Project Brief. MakoEducation got the chance to work with the LGBT group at Mahdlo on a film making and animation project. The project ran for four weekly sessions. Earlier this year MakoEducation worked with BBC Outreach on their Talent Ticket Roadshow. What is the Talent Ticket Roadshow? BBC Talent Ticket is a unique partnership between BBC Bristol and the University of the West of England, which encourages young people to consider media careers by offering work experience and other learning opportunities to secondary school students. When most people think of comic books they think of superheroes like Batman, Superman and Spiderman etc but here at MakoEducation we like to use comic books as a way for young people to express themselves creatively. Wellbeing Enterprises CIC approached us about the possibility of running a creative project with young people in Halton that produced media that could be used to help rase awareness of mental disorders. Recently, we were invited to work with Manchester Libraries on the launch of their Reading Hack program, where we ran a series of quick fire multimedia workshops, including green screen video, stop motion animation, E-Book Creation and digital music making.
